Indian POP singer, play back singer, Shreya Ghoshal was born on March 12, 1984 in Durgapur, West Bengal, India. She was born in Bengali Brahmin family. She studied at the Atomic Energy Central School in Kota and Mumbai. She has a degree in Arts from the SIES College and hopes to do her Masters in Literature.
Shreya Ghoshal trained in Hindustani Classical Music under Maheshchandra Sharma. She has participated in "Sa Re Ga Ma" (now Sa Re Ga Ma Pa) contest on Zee TV twice , first time as a child and second time as an adult. She was the winner in these two contests. She caught the attention of film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali when she participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for a second time. In 2000, He offered her the opportunity to be the voice of Aishwarya Rai.
